Course Scope:
The Ranger Course consists of three phases. The first phase (Benning) is conducted at Fort Benning, Georgia for 20 days. The second phase (Mountain) is conducted near Dahlonega in the mountains of North Georgia for 21 days. The third and final phase (Swamp/Jungle) is conducted at Eglin Air Force Base in Northwestern Florida for 18 days. Two days at the end of the course are used for out processing and graduation.

Course Outcomes:

  • Ranger Course Graduates return to their units physically and mentally tough, proficient in Squad and Platoon dismounted operations in austere terrain.   
  • Graduates will understand how to plan, coordinate, and execute small unit missions confidently and completely with minimal guidance.
  • The ability of Ranger graduates to manage stress will enable them to push their subordinates further and faster than they previously thought possible.
  • Ranger graduates will better understand the physical and mental limitations of the human body and will be more capable of leading their units in conditions that would defeat the average leader.‎
